Tracy Aquatic Center Installation

PROJECT WORKSHOP

The City of Tracy was awarded a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (SMAC) to work with me to create a community installation at their aquatic center!

May 30th

Tracy community members gathered at Tracy Public Library to create designs for the Project.

Participants were asked to create “Under the Sea” themed pixel illustrations to be incorporated into the installation design.

I was so much fun to talk with the kids about 8 bit design and how it helped develop modern video games and animation!

Once all of the submissions were gathered, I went to work arranging the illustrations into one collaborative design using the color pallet provided by the material vendor.

This design includes elements from the designs of: Grayson, Judah Loucks, Lucia, Mira Hanson, Madison, Micah Loucks, Mara Flesner, and others (who may have forgotten to sign their work).

After counting 4,463 squares, we are ready to place our materials order and plan installation.
