    You will learn basic book binding techniques and create your own journal to bring home.

Junk Journals

  • Explore creative reuse through collage, layering, simple bookbinding, and mixed-media techniques! Using recycled and decorative papers, fabric, and found materials, participants will create a personalized junk journal while experimenting with different ways to fill and embellish its pages.

    This relaxed, process-focused workshop encourages experimentation and personal expression. No previous experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.

Paint Party

  • Fall Paint Party

    Celebrate the season with a fall-themed paint party! Participants will be guided step-by-step through creating a seasonal acrylic painting while still having plenty of room to make the artwork their own.

    No painting experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome. All materials are provided, and participants will leave with a finished painting ready to take home.

Charcoal Workshop

Oct. 23

Mt. Lake, MN

  • Discover the expressive possibilities of charcoal in this hands-on drawing workshop with artist SammyJo Miller!

    Participants will explore the fundamentals of charcoal drawing while experimenting with bold mark-making, dramatic shading, texture, blending, and tonal value. Learn how to work with vine and compressed charcoal, charcoal pencils, blending tools, and erasers to create depth, highlights, and contrast.

    Whether you’re new to charcoal or looking to build your drawing skills, this relaxed and approachable workshop offers plenty of opportunity to experiment and create. Each participant will complete at least one finished charcoal drawing and leave with a printed technique guide for continued practice at home.

An Antique Holiday: Creating Holiday Patches

Montevideo, MN

  • Create a little piece of Christmas history! In this hands-on workshop, participants will create decorative felt Christmas patches using patterns based on holiday designs dating to around 1904 that have been preserved and passed down through four generations of the instructor's family.

    Participants will learn simple hand-stitching and embellishment techniques using felt, beads, sequins, and thread while recreating these charming antique designs. No previous sewing experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.
