…are looking for ARTISTS from grades 9-12, to create a new SCHOOL MURAL!
Participating Students will:
>Learn the process of CIVIC ART
>Work with a professional Artist
>Design and create a long standing work of art
>Expand their Resume for future opportunities
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The mural will require 2 stages, development and creation.
Development will take place over a series of group meetings starting in March. During this time students will help design and place the mural, working in a collaborative environment. They will be expected to attend meetings with administration to understand the civic art process.
The creation stage has the students physically making their art. We will start the work in April, following approval by administration. During this stage, students will be introduced to large scale art techniques and materials.
Important Dates
Students must be available for all meeting dates. Schedule is tentative, updates will be posted and emailed as soon as they are available.

Artist Statement
To write your artist statement, answer the following questions in paragraph form. Your statement should not exceed one page.

Work Samples
1-3 Work samples will be accepted per application
Work Samples should be photographs or digital files of your work
Make sure your work is easily visible in your images
Prepare a description of your work, this includes the year it was completed, the medium used, and size of the piece, also list of it has been publicly displayed, if so, where
